SAP (Standard Assessment
Procedure) is the government preferred
method used to assess and compare the energy and environmental performance of dwellings. It helps to provide valuable information
about the energy efficiency of properties to the government. This procedure has
been developed to provide accurate and reliable assessments of dwelling energy
performances that are needed to underpin energy and environmental policy
initiatives. The SAP calculations show compliance with Part Lof the building
regulations for all new build projects, conversions, and extensions. It looks
at several different energy functions of a residential building. The SAP rating
is based on the energy costs of space heating, water heating, ventilation, and
lighting.
The
SAP Assessment is the energy assessment that is undertaken to produce an EPC. A
SAP Assessment ensures the sustainability of your property. It uses methods to measure
the average annual energy costs for space heating, water heating, and lighting.
From these measurements, it is also possible to calculate the C02 emissions of
a given household. The On Construction, Energy Performance Certificate and
compliance checklist for new build dwellings are produced only by an accredited
energy assessor and it is then issued to building control for approval. All our
assessors are accredited by the NHER and undertake strict auditing procedures
to ensure that all of our assessments meet the criteria to ensure accuracy.
