Effective SAP Ratings UK - SAPs UK

SAP (Standard Assessment Procedure) is a government preferred method of calculating energy ratings and CO2 emissions of residential properties. All new dwellings are required to have SAP Ratings UK, as well as buildings undergoing conversion. The SAP rating is a calculation that is required to produce a Predicted Energy Assessment and on Construction Energy performance Certificate. The rise in awareness of environmental issues has led the UK government to create this procedure which can help analyze the situation. It has implemented to encourage energy efficiency and sustainability in both new and existing properties.

The SAP is the rating system used for the energy and CO2 emissions element. The SAP rating is based on the energy usage associated with space heating, water heating, ventilation and lighting, fewer cost savings from energy generation technologies. A SAP calculation indicates a score from 1 to 100+ for the annual energy cost based on:

· Elements of structure
· Heating and hot water system
· Internal lighting
· Renewable technologies used in the home

The higher the score the lower the running costs. For new buildings being in compliance with the latest amendments to Part L building regulations, L1 requires a SAP rating to be carried out & an EPC issued before completion.

SAPs UK offers On Construction Energy Performance Certificate and compliance checklist for new build dwellings which are produced only by an accredited energy assessor and it is then issued to building control for approval. All our assessors are accredited by the NHER and undertake strict auditing procedures to ensure that all of our assessments meet the criteria to ensure accuracy.
